HeRo documentation
About
HeRo is an open swarm-robotics platform from the Computer Vision and Robotics Lab (VeRLab) at UFMG.
HeRo started as a way to put a real multi-robot testbed on a student budget: a printable chassis, a board you can order from any PCB house, and software that already speaks ROS.
The current generation is HeRo 2.0. Firmware runs on an ESP8266, robots join the lab network over Wi‑Fi, and the same stack drives both hardware and Gazebo.
